Network Optimisation

High quality of service in mobile networks is the prerequisite for the commercial success. We have the experience and the software tools to achieve this. Our aim is to optimise networks both technically and economically.

Network Optimisation


The listing below describes a standard optimisation project:

1) Project Initialization

  • Local introduction
  • Definition of the final optimisation strategy
  • Data collection (site name, antenna type, power,…)
  • Data formatting

2) Drive test & performance data measurement

The Measurements shall be performed during busy hour and in cooperation with the local staff (min. 7 days):

  • RXLEV, RXQUAL, handover performance, …
  • Dropped calls, quality, congestion, …


3) Network evaluation

The network evaluation includes e.g:

  • Drive test data analysis
  • Performance data analysis
  • BSS parameter analysis
  • Air interface analysis
  • Examination of existing problems
  • Proposing methods of optimisation

4) Planning of the network changes

Following network changes can be proposed:

  • Frequency / Scrambling Code
  • Handover planning
  • BSS / RAN default parameter
  • Air interface (down tilt, output power, TRX, …)

5) Preparation of configuration

The preparation of the optimised network configuration shall be performed in cooperation with the local staff:

  • Script files for all optimised parameter
  • Preparation for the hardware changes
  • Strategy for the implementation (Start, locations, …)

6) Configuration on Air

All network changes will be implemented in cooperation with the local staff


7) Drive test & performance data control measurements

The control measurements shall be performed during busy hour and in cooperation with the local staff:

  • RXLEV, RXQUAL, handover performance, …
  • Dropped calls, quality, congestion, …

8) Fine tuning

Some network fine tunings will be performed after the implementation of all network changes e.g:

  • Frequencies / Scrambling Code
  • Handover planning
  • BSS default parameter
  • Air interface (down tilt, output power, TRX, …)

9) Optimisation report

The network optimisation report includes:

  • Results of the network optimisation
  • Drive tests and performance data measurements
  • Final recommendations

10) Final Presentation

The results of the network optimisation will be presented at the end of the project
